Camtasia 7.1 giveaway and video review (Download Squad)

Nov 15th 2010 5:00PM Definitely a huge, huge improvement over the 3 year old software I'm using now!

Adobe CTO defends Flash against battery life criticism (TUAW.com)

Nov 9th 2010 1:14AM Your logic is extremely flawed. If a Flash ad or whatever it is, is displaying animated or interactive content and the fallback is a static picture or simplified HTML 5 element there is no way that the experience is similar. Watching an animated GIF uses less CPU then watching a low bit rate You Tube video which uses less CPU then watching a DVD. Sorry your counter argument to Adobe's comment is a giant FAIL.

Warner Bros. says Apple's TV rentals are too cheap (TUAW.com)

Sep 21st 2010 4:19PM I must be missing something, I just don't get this whole renting and buying FREE TV shows.

Does the Apple TV need 1080p? (TUAW.com)

Aug 13th 2010 5:26PM Once again the Apple heads will bow down to whatever decision Steve Jobs makes.

Does one "need" 1080p, no.
Should the system have the capability to deliver 1080p, yes.
Are there numerous devices that deliver 1080p already, yes.
Are there people with 1080p TVs, yes.
Should the consumer have the choice to receive 720p or 1080p streams based on their bandwidth, yes.

I have 1080p TVs, I have 25Mbs Fios and what I won't have is a crippled AppleTV device.

As someone already mentioned, the iTV or whatever it's going to be called will likely have a follow on iTV+ 18 months later.

Apple uses third-party app screenshots in patent applications, world erupts in hysteria (Engadget)

Aug 6th 2010 5:22PM Whether it's legal or not really isn't the point. If someone used an Apple screenshot in the same way Apple would be on them like white on rice. At the very least it's simply lazy to copy a screenshot from another developer's product and it's being oblivious or contemptuous to the obvious public outrage that will erupt. With their handling of events over the last six months or so it's more likely the latter.

iPhone Bumpers also selling well (TUAW.com)

Jun 16th 2010 12:26PM What a ripoff. $30 for a 30 cent piece of rubberized plastic that should be included with the device.

Google outlaws Windows, but what if Microsoft outlaws Google...? (Download Squad)

Jun 1st 2010 11:06AM There is no libel here. Give me a break. Slow news day?

Also what Google chooses as their internal platforms is totally up to Google. If a Google employee doesn't like it they can leave. Not happening....

So the what if is pretty simple, if MS somehow disabled Google access to the public using MS OS computers they would be epically sued. If they banned it internally in MS that's fine.

7 anti-Apple cliches that need to die (TUAW.com)

May 29th 2010 11:59PM Perhaps you need to wonder why people feel so adament (sp?) that they need to say nazi or hitler in their commentary. It's not something you should be dismissing, It should be something that should be considered as being a very serious issue. When it gets to that level something needs to change. People have gone beyond the idiot, jerk or whatever level and have a problem describing something they consider more serious so they "resort" to the nazi/hitler level. At that point it's not something to just brush off.

Apple applies for patent to resume media playback on another device (Engadget)

May 28th 2010 2:46PM @pika2000

That's misleading as well. Foxconn = Apple + Dell + HP + x + y + ....

You're making it sound like Apple has no involvement in Foxconn. Even if the Apple percentage is low, they are currently the most notable due to their current successes.
