Microsoft.com redesigned, brings WP7's Metro UI to the Web (Download Squad)

Mar 18th 2011 5:43AM Very nice user experience (I could actually click the "for home" and "for work" buttons all day), the overall design still screams "vanilla microsoft" to me though. Visually, the metro UI is driven by type and a very strict grid system, I'm not sure I see that here. I'd say the most visually unique part of the metro UI design is the cropped type, of which there is none in this design.

Overall I'm not impressed, microsoft are capable of way better than this.

Oct 11th 2010 10:31AM yay! I hope microsoft aren't going to keep the windows phone 7 marketplace separate from 6.x, I use a 6.5 handset and looking forward to the boost in apps that version 7 will (hopefully) bring.

Ask DLS: Now that you've seen Chrome OS do you still care? (Download Squad)

Nov 20th 2009 9:44AM I think this is going to be a fantastic quick boot OS for netbooks, as long as you have mobile broadband or are always in range of a wifi hotspot that is! I'm definitely going to install this on my netbook when I can, and as long as it supports grabbing my data connection from my mobile phone I'm sorted!
