Gmail adds email translation features: Is this helpful? (Download Squad)
May 20th 2009 1:13AM I usually find corresponding with someone whose native language isn't English is easier than with native speakers. Too many native speakers of English can't be bothered writing English properly.
Can we have a google translation from crappy English to understandable English?
A lesson in steampunk from your friends at Damnation (Joystiq)
Apr 23rd 2009 11:59PM I do like how they've emphasised the punk element of steampunk. Plus the non-Victorian flavour is very much appreciated, I always have Oriental and Wild West influences in my steampunk outfits.
"These days, steampunk is most commonly identified with cosplay kids who have rich, far too compassionate parents." Sounds like the steampunk scene over there is weird, very weird or you were just being facetious. The Australian scene is dominated by adults.
UK retailers caught selling mature games to undercover teen (Joystiq)
Apr 20th 2009 1:51PM Entrapment is rarely viable as a defense in the US considering how many exceptions there are. In other countries it is non-existent.

Apr 20th 2009 1:49PM Is the photo in the article the volunteer or are is the standard sting where they get some freakish giant 14 year old who looks 20 and act all shocked he doesn't get IDed?
The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition bundle to contain replica bass, drums (Joystiq)
Apr 14th 2009 11:58AM The Mad Catz bass kisses ass. Split strum bar and a lot bigger. I can't go back to the old controllers without thinking I'm playing a ukulele. So let's hope the Hofner bass is on par.
LGJ: Is game censorship the new trade barrier? (Joystiq)
Apr 11th 2009 1:17AM Locally made games which didn't meet their local censorship standards wouldn't be released overseas in an uncensored state. In some, if not all, countries it would be illegal to do so.
America has banned overseas games which don't meet its censorship standards, but since Americans are far more lax than a lot of other countries and given the number of games they export of course they are going to get banned at a higher rate.
It's not like there is a huge German game import market in the US for you to compare it with.
Midnight movie: Plants vs. Zombies, the music video (Joystiq)
Apr 2nd 2009 12:25PM Zombie dolphins and "Get ready to soil your plants" as a tagline. I'm sold.
GDC09: 'Rock Band' was almost 'Metal Lords' (Joystiq)
Mar 27th 2009 10:36PM Metal Lords and Power Chords would be an awesome title.
But you can just imagine the bitching on the forums if they released any DLC with only a single power chord.
Facebook users hate the redesign, but does it matter? (Download Squad)
Mar 23rd 2009 11:10AM It's the apps appearing in the feed that bug me. I could live with the rest.
Meet the new boss in Overlord II (Joystiq)
Mar 19th 2009 2:16AM Looking forward to this. The first one was so much fun.
