What'll you say when you finally see the Wii Vitality Sensor games? (Joystiq)

Jul 10th 2009 1:32PM I'm gonna be pretty happy actually. I had a game idea centered around using exactly this type of device and maybe with a bit of Bluetoothing and GlovePIE I could cook up a demo.

Is Google Chrome OS a Windows killer? Or just a Jolicloud killer? (Download Squad)

Jul 8th 2009 12:40PM Of course you can't run IE on it. But that's because Microsoft doesn't want to make it cross-platform, not because Google wouldn't let you. The same can be said about Chrome the browser, which asks which search engine you want to use rather then assuming you'll always want to use Google.

Swag Saturday: Prototype and Wolverine for 360 (Joystiq)

Jun 27th 2009 2:35PM Oh man, I started reading Joystiq so long ago I can't even remember. At least a few years (and site layout changes) ago. It's always been my first source for gaming news.

Watch the PlayStation Motion Controller in action (Joystiq)

Jun 3rd 2009 8:03PM If Microsoft didn't show off their motion sensing project, I might've cared. But this is already obsolete. Why bother holding up some sticks when I can just set up a little device at the TV and be able to use my ENTIRE body.

Microsoft releases Sharepoint Designer 2007 as a free download (Download Squad)

Apr 5th 2009 3:27AM Uggg NOOOO! I have to work with this crappy software at work and now that it's free, my boss is going to find it all the more appealing. But Sharepoint is utter crap. Totally unconfigurable and just a plain mess. Server side and the designer. They HAD to make it free so more people will use it. I hope it backfires horribly and more people just notice how bad it is.

Alert to all Jerks: Valve to rate Team Fortress 2 servers (Joystiq)

Mar 13th 2009 9:00PM What are you guys talking about? This rating system is independent of the actual servers content or style of doing things. Instead it just takes into account how long someone is willing to stay in the server and play. If the server is good in their eyes, they will stay. If not, they will leave. If the general consensus of a server to most people is that it's run poorly then it will get a low ranking due to people joining, not liking it, and leaving. Otherwise players with a variety of things they enjoy about TF2 will stay for more then enough time to get the server a decent ranking. This works fine.

Sonic Unleashed DLC no longer leashed (Joystiq)

Mar 12th 2009 10:13PM I've gotta say it's getting really frustrating seeing comments about Unleashed being god awful.

Comments about it being bad? About being half decent? Sure, I can understand that. But left and right I'm seeing game reviewers talk about this game as if it made them want to vomit profusely should they look at the box.

Yet a large majority of people who bought this game were at least fairly satisfied with it. Out of the many crappy, half-assed, bug-filled Sonic games that have been around in recent years, this one was an example of actual effort on Sonic Team's part. True, the Werehog levels were a flop but with better level designs with some clever mechanics they could've been an excellent way to add value to what would've been more of the same old Sonic gameplay otherwise (which might not have been a bad thing at all, but no harm in wanting to expand audiences either).

On a side note though, you don't have to kill every enemy in the Werehog levels you know guys....they go much faster if you dash through the enemies you don't have to kill and only fight when you have to. As a matter of fact the Werehog levels even feel decently paced when playing this way. So really the fault of these levels was being too long and doing a poor job directing the player rather then the Werehog's fighting mechanics themselves. They could've done better with that as well, but it is kind of fun to pull off good, bot-crushing combos.

So no. No this game is not "self-abuse". It's not "atrocious" or "absolutely terrible" or even waste of money. If I didn't know any better, I'd say all the game journalists were out to just troll every Sonic fan around at this point, because they did NOT play this game long, if at all, with reviews like that.

Sega teases ... something ... called 'Project RINGO' (Joystiq)

Feb 12th 2009 9:42PM This isn't an iPhone project. Or well, it COULD be but there wouldn't be anything special about that considering they already have a game or two on there.

I'm pretty sure this is the speculated Naka platformer. The art style in the character silhouette looks like it matches the Sonic art style. And is it just me or is this character wearing a dress and have a female-looking figure? Whatever the case I'm going with Naka's new game. The "vibe" just matches the kind of thing Naka would make to me. And since he's one of SEGA's biggest former stars, I'm pretty sure they're going to give his title the "Tripple-A" treatment if they think it's good.

If I'm right, it's good to see you returning to form Naka!

Friday Video: smashing it up with our favorite brawlers (Joystiq Nintendo)

Jan 12th 2007 7:59PM What song is this? I wanna know so I can...ligitimatly obtain a copy >.>

And no, this was a fan-made trailer, not an official video. We don't know if Sonic will be in it or not.

Wii Warm Up: wrist straps (Joystiq Nintendo)

Jan 11th 2007 8:34AM I personally love these straps. I asked for four (though I only have one Wiimote) cuse I think they're pretty handy. One for my Wii mote, one for my DS Lite, one for my camera, and one for my iPod.
