Jul 4th 2007 9:34PM Just to clarify the point a little less jingoistically than #2, in US English, "series" refers not to an individual year's worth of an episode but instead to the entirety of the show's run. Thus, referring to a "series finale" in US English means you are referring to the very final episode ever to be aired of the episode, as opposed to the last episode to be aired until the following year.

May 7th 2007 8:08PM I actually am finding that the words make more cognitive sense to me — it was far too easy to simply "ignore" the numeric display as simple numerals. I'm not sure if I can explain that better; essentially, the word-based time display seems to have a better connection to my actual time sense, whereas my brain can more easily filter out the numeric form as simple noise.
