SMS Popup for Android enables quick (and preset) replies (Download Squad)

Dec 29th 2010 12:30AM Like Jaymoon said, only worth downloading if you use the default messaging app. ChompSMS has their own built in notifier along with all the other layout/template changes, etc.

Oct 19th 2010 10:26PM Now if they would remove the capp on the number of friends you can have. Sort of defeats the purpose.

Android Market to begin accepting PayPal payments on October 26? (Download Squad)

Oct 6th 2010 7:34PM PayPal has absolutely awful customer service anytime you have problems. And God forbid someone hack's your account, you are basically screwed on getting any of your financial data corrected. While this may be a good idea for some, I wont be using it.

Usability rant: why doesn't KeePass have a Read-Only mode? (Download Squad)

Jul 28th 2010 1:17AM If you access the kdb file via the web it is automatically opened as read only.

I don't recommend manually changing file attributes to read only if you log in from multiple locations.

I load an archive copy via FTP to my private domain and I can open in keepass. I use dropbox as well for updating my file for actual changes. The mobile version of keepass tracks multiple file locations as well. So it really comes down to how you tell keepass to access the file.

Porn sites will finally get .XXX domain, says ICANN (Download Squad)

Jun 26th 2010 1:01AM I always thought it a good idea frrom sheer simplicity. That said, there is no mandate that any porn company ONLY purchase the .xxx domains so there is no real improvement on filtering. Many already have multiple domains as it is so the fears of being summarily blocked are unfounded as well.

Seesmic Mobile arrives for Android and Blackberry (Download Squad)

Nov 23rd 2009 9:45PM Its off to a good start but still buggy. Its designed well, I definitely like the tabs.

It is currently very sluggish in loading updates and suffers from random unexplainable crashes. Doesn't let you change text size so can be a pain to read.

Overall, its off to a good start. After they work the bugs out it very well could be a replacement to twidroid but not yet.

Nov 5th 2009 12:40AM I agree w/Turbofool and Rocketboy, I can't believe you'd recommend a tool of a spam engine like weatherbug.

To all potential users, DON'T! I signed up with a unique email and within 24 hours, my inbox was flooded with spam.

Achtung, T-Mobile: if Project Dark is $50 unlimited, you're in trouble (Engadget)

Oct 13th 2009 1:21AM I've been w/tmobile since 99 and anything is better than their old edge network. I'm hoping they learn from ATT's tragic mistake with the iphone and have the network hardware and bandwidth in place to handle the demand.

6 Microsoft freebies I actually love to use (Download Squad)

Jul 7th 2009 2:55AM WLW has come a long way since its inception. It is much better about not cluttering up HTML code (even though sometimes still messy). It is easy on the eyes, fast, and has decent auto-detect features. The add-in list is small but has a decent selection of useful plug-ins.

I prefer synctoy over livesync, just as a preference.

Win7 is all the things Vista should have been. If you run on laptops, it definitely increases battery life!
