YouSendIt is the only way to transfer files across the Internet -- review, and mammoth give-away (Download Squad)

May 27th 2010 1:58PM Thought I'd give it a try (free version). Page froze at 97% and then got a message saying, if I navigate away from, or close the page, the file would not be sent. Waited more than half an hour. Then finally closed the page, and sure enough the file was not sent.

I don't appreciate being "held hostage" by a website, for an undisclosed time period, waiting for confirmation of file sent. Seems to me that they're just trying to force you to view their ads (for a long time).

Tried it a second time, with the same results.

Too frustrating to be recommended by me.

Dell Studio Hybrid gets reviewed, does alright (Engadget)

Jul 29th 2008 1:33PM I really like small computers so this one caught my interest right away. However, a call to Dell for more information was a let down. They said that they didn't know much about it, being so new. There are no manuals or downloads on their website yet, can't tell me anything about the motherboard or components other than what is on their website (which isn't much), won't run XP only Vista, options in the US are different than options available in Canada, and so on.

I suspect this computer, like most small ones, will have a long, uneventful, non-updated, and ignored future.

XP Virgin Install: the Final Chapter? (Download Squad)

Mar 24th 2006 10:53AM I don't understand how you can call this a "virgin" install? You have AVG, Google Desktop, RealPlayer etc. all being installed along with XP. Where did they come from? To me, a virgin install would be Windows XP and maybe some device drivers and that's it. Everything else comes later.
