Oct 30th 2006 11:49AM I would say that I am living proof that you don't need big money to do ok. I certainly started off as just about as long tail as one could be (while flat broke)...I turned down being officially published, VC funding, etc. and make far more than most people do.

I think it is more criminal to blog ignorantly about an issue than it is to create a profitable low or no value site. At least the other guys are honest about the value of their content.

Guess it just depends on how far you want your content to go. Some people are more ambitious.

Feb 8th 2006 3:08AM Really not that surprising of an addition IMHO. Also look how analytics companies still advertise on Google, in spite of Google giving away great analytics products. If you have reach people will pay because the potential gain to them is greater than the hurt to the industry in general.
