Mickey-D's to serve up WiFi in the UK, tips hat to iPhone (Download Squad)
Oct 8th 2007 11:58PM McDonald's in Lima, Peru has free WiFi at its MacCafe locations...
Joost 0.9 released with better video and oh yeah, some ads too (Download Squad)
Apr 3rd 2007 10:53AM I deserve an invite because:
a) I live in Lima, Peru and TV here sucks, and torrenting American TV shows is too much of a hassle; and
b) Joost has totally ignored my request for a trial copy ("we'll let you know when you can download a copy"... please!)
Thanks!

The PowerBook's early years (TUAW.com)
Nov 25th 2005 4:14PM Actually, the early Powerbooks WERE "shining examples of exemplary notebook engineering". As is pointed out, the forward-keyboard design, palm rest with and pointing device in the middle of the palm rest were all extremely innovative designs that became industry standards that last to this date. The 15lb clunker was NOT a Powerbook, but rather the Mac Portable (the "Luggable" as it was coined). Powerbooks have remained on the leading edge of tech design with a hiatus in the late 90s with the severely unimpressive (from a performance and design standpoint) 5300 and 3400 series. Download Mactracker for all the specs on the Luggable and every Apple device to date. MH
"One More Thing" is just an open apology for ROKR (TUAW.com)
Oct 12th 2005 1:15PM An APOLOGY? From STEVE?!? N.F.W.!!! He's way too self-absorbed for that.
Peruvian government to go open source (Download Squad)
Sep 27th 2005 11:03PM Hello from Lima. Well it's about time! My government has made one bad decision after another, but this is a move in the right direction. The very basic administrative needs of most governmental organizations will be very well served by Ooo and Linux, and hopefully this exercise will restore the credit the free software movement lost in Brazil in a similar, but ill-fated, attempt. Saludos from the south, Mark
