Evernote launches into open beta, introduces premium accounts (Download Squad)

Jun 24th 2008 9:24PM The Mozilla plugin they offer on their website works fine in FF3. I'm using right now.

Ask DLS: What do you think of Internet Explorer 8 beta 1? (Download Squad)

Mar 5th 2008 5:05PM It is obvious this is a beta release within seconds of using. Many pages are rendered with a Picasso touch. That being said, the new favorites bar, slightly better tab support, and WebSlices are nice touches. I can almost guarantee it won't have too many Firefox users switching back but any improvement in the IE experience is greatly welcomed.

Get messed up with I-Doser (Download Squad)

Jan 19th 2008 10:30AM I just gave it a go with the cocaine dose and I have to say it does a decent job. Obviously it wasn't precise (not that I would know *cough cough*) but pretty amazing for just a sound file. To get optimum results you need to sit in the dark and listen to the entire track, which could be tough for the impatient.

I'm not sure what purpose this will serve in the real world but one application may be to help loved ones of addicted people a chance to safely "experience" what their addicted peer goes through a little.

Export Silverlight files on OS X with Flip4Mac (Download Squad)

Dec 28th 2007 12:03PM This is pretty good news for Mac users. Silverlight apps are becoming more and more impressive for speed and quality. Check out Mike Swanson's blog for an example of Vertigo's Silverlight Slideshow... http://blogs.msdn.com/mswanson/archive/2007/12/18/silverlight-slide-show.aspx

Yahoo! Messenger for Vista Preview is live (Download Squad)

Dec 6th 2007 10:43AM After testing this out for a few hours it looks like it is mainly a GUI change and a sluggish one at that. The soon to release Trillian Astra has all these features (and much more), a stronger UI, faster interface, and multi OS interface. If they can publicize it more than they have in the past it would be a huge contender to anything like this Yahoo bit.

PayPal will let you buy stuff on sites that don't accept PayPal (Download Squad)

Nov 19th 2007 2:42PM I've been using this through PayPal for quite a while now (at least 6 months)

Fedora 8 out today (Download Squad)

Nov 9th 2007 2:21PM I've been testing it since release and I am pretty impressed with this update. I've had some issues with Compiz-Fusion but other than that the experience has been great. I've read that quite a few are having some issues with PulseAudio. I have yet to have any of those issues. The new Nodoka theme takes some getting used to (wow, that's a bright shade of blue).

Install Windows Live Wave 2 a few hours early (Download Squad)

Nov 6th 2007 8:20PM I updated the apps and now I'm having some issues with WLM. Funny, I never had any issues when it was beta but the final release is buggy.
