Link and steal thoughts at Podobo (Download Squad)

Sep 6th 2007 2:29PM It is simply a creative commons of thought. Or more aptly perhaps a more effecient way of procuring the ideas of ones peers, an already very common happenstance among any industry. Where would American TV be with out idea theft as an example.

Learn things visually at/in 5min (Download Squad)

Sep 6th 2007 2:26PM What is the monetization angle for this puppy? Ads? Premium Content? Richard Simmons?

I really hop it isn't the later.

Track flights with a Google Maps Mashup (Download Squad)

Sep 5th 2007 11:55PM Excellent a new tool to make stalking people so much easier. With Facebook and Spock and now this tool soon all the gaps will be closed.

Motion Portrait: Talking heads on a creepy new level (Download Squad)

Aug 31st 2007 4:49AM It seems to me they would simply be annoying in the end. I think it will go the way of the expensive, impressive and blinding Flash pages. Simple and straight forward is the way to go in any website. Whether we are talking about advertising, social network or a blog.

Print media is figuring out how YOU like news (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 9:26PM My personal focus on certain hyper-localised news sources has honestly stunted my knowledge of my actual local news. I spend to much time reading about web 2.0 and the like that I didn't find out about a high speed chase in my neihborhood untill my parents told me about it. For those of us with a computer attached to our faces we can get odd priorties as to news of important and we can enter circles that have no effect on the physical worl but seems very real to us at any rate.

My Times start page launches on NYTimes.com (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 8:01PM I think the My Times page will only really attract the hardcore NYtimes junkies and won't really bring in much of the interent mainsteam. iGoogle has got them sewn up for the near future with the odd successful competitor.

Music to our ears: SoundExchange and webcasters reach compromise (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 7:56PM The internet radi phenomenon may have started out as the voice of the poeple but as soon as it was popularized among the internet popultion it became of interest to those with power and money. This focus dramatically changed internet radio. Whether for good or ill the it has become internet mainstream and therefore its monetization became a priority. This has allowed for higher quality services but gives us naked money grabs like what sound exchange was originally doing for the RIAA.

Animoto - no more dull slideshows (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 12:57AM 30 seconds can't be to many photos. Of course if your just doing the highlights I suppose that is enough. Now the important question is can it jazz up my amatuer porn shoots?

Facebook to use profile information to target ads (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 12:53AM This more then the normal targeted advertising which takes whats on the screen on turns it into ad content based on the content of the page. This looking at your interestes and selling accordingly. I don;t really have a problem with it. As long as Facebooks security stays tight...wait didn;t they have breach.

Yahoo! Teachers, a social network for teachers (Download Squad)

Aug 24th 2007 12:33AM I wonder if this is a response to the various cases of online harrasment of teachers. Giving them their own space to be harrased with some education and class rather then with crude jokes about their sexual orientation.
