Hey Steve, can the iPad tether with the iPhone? (Engadget)
Mar 5th 2010 11:24PM Short answer: Yes, with a jailbroken iPhone... You jailbreak and get PDANet or MyWi and let it act as a hotspot, then connect with WiFi that leeches off your 3G... So long as you can tether...
What was your first computer? (Download Squad)
Dec 31st 2009 4:17PM My first computer was a C64 with a 300bps modem. It was quickly followed by a 386sx16, with 1MB RAM, 60MB Hard Drive and 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" Floppies. All in for a paltry $3500 ... Sweeeeeeet.

Sony BDP-S350 review (Engadget HD)
Aug 15th 2008 9:41PM Here's the wacky thing... I have been reading the manual on esupport.sony.com and it states on page 62 (The audio specs page) that it only outputs 5.1 DTS Core via Bitstream, but then there's a little *5 beside that... So we look on down at *5 and it says:
"When BD Audio Setting is set to direct, audio recorded by the source is output via Bitstream. However, this audio may be output as follows depending on the audio formats supported by the receiver. When AV Receiver does not support HD Audio (DTS-HR, DTS-MA, TrueHD, DD+) BUT supports Multi-Ch LPCM, up to 7.1 LPCM is output".
This to me says that it DOES have a decoder, but that the receiver that it is connected to must be at least HDMI 1.2 but not 1.1 (Not enough bandwidth). Now, I have a STR-DA5200ES from Sony, which DOES support HDMI 1.2 (Multi-CH 7.1 LPCM), so anyone care to reaffirm my hypothesis? Or should I rely on the return policies.. =)
Some Vista SP1 early adopters reporting problems, how about you? (Engadget)
Mar 21st 2008 2:01AM I had a wicked memory leak before SP1. When I first started windows, I had 80% of my memory free, by the end of day two (without rebooting) I'd have 50%. Now I have been running for two days and not only does my memory free up when I close a program, it actually gives me 85% of my memory free from the start! No Driver issues aside from my Creative Labs Gameport.. but that's a known issue since the start of Vista. Thumbs up!
