Bing search engine arrives on iPad (TUAW.com)

Apr 7th 2011 1:12PM Why would you need an app for a search engine? Doesn't the iPad come with Safari? I really don't understand why everything in the world needs to have its own app on the iOS platform. It seems to be fracturing the web into a million pieces.

OS X Lion preview ably demonstrates that disc is dead (TUAW.com)

Feb 24th 2011 1:59PM So no one owns any entertainment DVDs that they play on their Mac? Really? Bad enough we don't have Blu-Ray. But someone bought millions of DVDs in the last 10 years. No one wants to play those on their Macs??? Playing DVDs is one of the main things I use my MacBook for when I'm traveling.

Motorola Super Bowl ad pokes fun at Apple users (TUAW.com)

Feb 4th 2011 3:17PM Too bad they can't give their product a pronouncable name.

Time Machine holds a place in my heart, and it should in yours too (TUAW.com)

Jan 7th 2011 9:49AM ...Actually, that brings up yet another reason I'm deeply suspicious of the new Mac App Store. What happens when a product is abandoned by its developer? I'm sure it will vanish from the store. If I want to continue using it and want to install it on another Mac, I won't be able to if it's no longer in the store, right?

I have no plan to use the Mac App Store for anything. I just wish Apple would stop trying to turn my Mac into a walled-garden iPhone.

Jan 7th 2011 9:46AM I'd disagree about excluding the Downloads folder. It's saved me a few times when software I use gets orphaned, and I want to load it on another Mac.

Larry King: Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow Are 'Preachers of Their Own Opinion' (VIDEO) (AOL TV)

Dec 27th 2010 2:41PM Utter nonsense from a man too old and dim to be speaking in public. I learn more from Rachel Maddow than from any other source on television. Yes, she has opinions, but her show presents facts. She and Jon Stewart are pretty much the last ones practicing journalism on television.

Do You Skip Commercials on Your DVR? (AOL TV)

Dec 22nd 2010 3:32PM I 3X fast-forward through commercial breaks. Who ARE these people who watch the commercials on their DVR???
I used to use the TiVo 30-second skip, but breaks aren't usually in 30-second multiples, so I'd always overshoot and have to back up. With the fast-forward, I can usually stop right on target.

HBO Passes on Alan Ball's Latest Project, 'All Signs of Death' (AOL TV)

Dec 9th 2010 11:27AM Is it "All Signs of Life" or "All Signs of Death"? Your headline says one thing, and your article says another.

Oscar-Winning Composer Alan Menken Developing Musical Series for ABC, 'Men of a Certain Age' Ratings Slump and More (AOL TV)

Dec 8th 2010 2:53PM Despite some big magazine ads, I don't think there was enough publicity on the return of "Men of a Certain Age" to guarantee that the audience that watched it all those many months ago even knew it was returning. That's the problem with very long breaks.

'Queer As Folk' Cast: Where Are They Now? (AOL TV)

Dec 3rd 2010 4:23PM If you mean you want to legally own it, and you live in the U.S., if you wait until June, you'll have your chance: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Queer-Folk-UK-The-Complete-Series/14738
