You can't compare these numbers.
GW had 6+ million units sold and that includes all the expansions over the years. This means that players bought anywhere from 1 up to 4 units per account.
However.. Swtor has 1.7 million active (paid subscription or in free month / trial) accounts right now.

They have another choice:
4) Give the day 1 character DLC to everyone who buys a new (not used) game.

They actually did this with ME2, DAO and DA2 and everyone was happy.

It's supposed to have stuff you collect. A character like that is not a collectors item unless it's a Pokemon.

Nov 9th 2011 9:04AM @Tappybot The point is that the game is activated on your Origin account... just like Valve games must be activated on Steam and Blizzard games must be activated on Battle.net.
This means you can't resell it but it also means you can play without the DVD and you can download it anytime and anywhere you want (again: just like Steam and Battle.net).

Valve games (Portal 2, L4D, ..) are Steam exclusive. You can't buy them anywhere else online.

But EA are the ones who don't like competition?

Nov 9th 2011 4:00AM @wenchwogg I'm sure it's an Origin game. It might even require Origin if it ever becomes available on Steam, just like Portal 2 / CoD / Deus Ex 3 / etc.. require Steam regardless of who sold it.
