Logitech drops Google TV (TUAW.com)
Nov 13th 2011 1:40PM This headline seems like link bait in light of recent announcements of google tv mk II with other partners. It is actually history rather news, although only coming to light in announcements of Google TV Giving it another go.
Also since google is still publicly plugging away at the TV problem, that does NOT leave Apple TV the only 'player' for what it is worth, in strictest terms.
iOS and Mac App Store back down (TUAW.com)
Jun 2nd 2011 4:13AM App updates have been an issue for some time, partly because iTunes, iOS, and app API rules are changing so frequently that the apps update very frequently, multiplied by the number of apps you may have and the time you have to sync, download podcasts etc. This is greatly exacerbated if you do not have constant access to wifi or broadband.
And if you update apps on the phone directly, iTunes may still think you have never downloaded and updated your apps, because they are still online for you. And even if you have, if you have interrupted a 'sending genius info to iTunes' update, iTunes still thinks you need to update.
Multiple pathways to sync, the inconvenience of completing a sync, three different catalogs of what you have, whether you are logged in to iTunes store ( not necessary for podcasts), and constantly changing app versions, and you have issues regardless of how well any of those lists are tracking each other.

Rumor: Next MacBook Pro to sport completely redesigned case (TUAW.com)
Apr 25th 2011 9:18PM Bad timing for such unfounded prognostication, even if merely trolling for hits, given
-how recent latest mbpro updates actually have been, and
-how far in the future this rumor is suggested to come into fruition.
Really folks, don't buy a MacBook Pro now, because one or two years from now, it is 'rumored' it will be totally redesigned to drop features you will probably find useful in the meantime, miss when tthey are gone, in order to emulate other product line that currently exist.
Next MacBook Pro to be wrist mounted iPod nano, so, hold off you purchase until that happens, mmkay? No, I was not trying to get your attention, as the theatre is on fire.
Verizon iPad 2s feel the need to roam ... constantly [Updated] (TUAW.com)
Apr 8th 2011 1:48PM It is historically annoying. In fact, considering how carriers used to price gouge and rape customers with roaming charges, I am sure there are some very visceral and reflexive reactions akin to quickly shutting off, even tossing a device in disgust, when users see the word, which brings up images of outrageous overcharges incurring.
5 ways Apple could improve iBooks (TUAW.com)
Apr 7th 2011 8:32PM 3 and 4 is done. It's called the ePub format.
5 is up to the publisher. Some have decided to include blurbs from the dust jacket flaps.
1 & 2 simply don't bother the average person
Ask TUAW: The iPad 2 Is Almost Here! Edition (TUAW.com)
Mar 7th 2011 12:13PM aGPS works over edge networks on the iPhone, but maps still need the data to download, for the Maps app at least. Will a contract be necessary for gps to work at all on the iPad?
Verizon is in more places, slower, than att, and there seems to be some fracturing on iOS updates. Maybe I should wait for an LTE iPad 3.
TeleNav GPS for the Verizon iPhone announced (TUAW.com)
Feb 7th 2011 10:39AM The subscription gps model was created for almost smartphones the carriers had, without app stores outside the carriers, like the blackberry, and is most likely to be used by switchers from those platforms already using it, or having work pay the bill.
