Apple lays out $11 billion in purchase commitments (TUAW.com)

Apr 27th 2011 1:37AM A commitment leads to a payment in the future, it does not require cash that is in the bank now.

Two things I still miss from old Palm OS:
- graffiti
- privacy mode

Feb 15th 2011 4:18AM I bought one of these about 6 months ago and think it is absolutely fantastic. With the rounded edges it can slip into a pocket close to the belt clip I use for my iPhone and deliver a recharge whilst walking.

The best Mac applications I used in 2010 (TUAW.com)

Dec 24th 2010 4:30AM 2010 is the year that I went from using one Mac to two regularly and four two more occasionally so for me synchronisation was important. Also,

My stand-out software apps are:
- Dropbox (by a long distance)
- 1Password
- Rapidweaver with Stacks add-in
- Scrivener
- Totalfinder (integrates cut & paste INTO Finder, no need for MoveApp)
- Divvy (instead of SizeUp)

Biggest dispappointment:
- Things; I gave up waiting for the long promised OTA sync and bought Omnifocus instead.

32 GB versus 32GB: Almost everyone is writing it wrong (TUAW.com)

Dec 16th 2010 8:24PM Oh dear.

1) "not my forte" refers to the musical term (strong/loud) so their pronunciation is correct. Your's is not unless refering to a military base.

2) an acronym is a word created from the initial letters of other words (e.g., radar, laser). Thus GB is an abbreviation but not an acronym.

Mac 101: The two Applications folders (TUAW.com)

Dec 3rd 2010 11:36AM You could copy and paste the Applications icon to your replacement.

1) In Finder select the Applications folder, open the Info windows (Cmd-I), click on the icon in the top left corner, copy it (Cmd-C).

2) Select your replacment folder, open it's info window, select the icon, paste the Applications icon in it's place.

TUAW's Holiday Gift Guide: 10 must-have apps for a new Mac (TUAW.com)

Nov 13th 2010 6:47AM Windows support is new in 1Password. As previous poster said, it syncs using DropBox without any user intervention at all. I can have 1P open on two machines at the same time and a change on one appears in the other almost instantly.
