DC Announces Their Next Major Crossover: 'DCU DISARMED' [Exclusive] (ComicsAlliance)
Apr 1st 2011 4:37PM This story would probably end with Batwoman and Oracle getting matching mastectomies. In refrigerators, to boot.

It's Official: The Thing Has a Rocky Orange, er, Thing (ComicsAlliance)
Mar 10th 2011 2:44PM Two thoughts come to mind:
1. What does this make Alicia? What do you call a women who likes her men, er, rocky?
2. Whose phallus is bumpier- Ben's or Charlie Sheen's? (Joke had to be made)
The 5 Image Comics You Need to Buy on the iPad (And the 4 They Need To Offer) (ComicsAlliance)
Aug 26th 2010 6:37PM The problem with Supreme is that the art is apparently gone. If you've ever seen the Checker reprints, you would see what I'm talking about. The book is shot from scans of the comics, not any sort of film or digital file. I don't know that anyone would want to pay anything for a blurry copy of those comics.
Of course, there are decent bootleg scans of the book out there. But that defeats the point a bit, doesn't it? And who'd get paid? Liefeld? The artists (who,to my understanding, didn't get reprint moneys from the Checker books)? Alan Moore (who also didn't get paid, and probably wouldn't want to at this point, given how he feels about these sort of things)?
The Supreme comics are some of my favorite Alan Moore stuff. They're a loving tribute to an age of comics that will never come around again. But unless something changes, I doubt we'll ever see them again in a decent reprint or digital offering. It's a shame.

Ask Chris #11: Jumping On the Legion and the Riddler's Greatest Hits (ComicsAlliance)
May 21st 2010 2:53PM I've bought all the Legion Archives. There's no reason to pay cover for all of them; I found them at around half-price or less through eBay. Even ordering on Amazon will get you a 30% or so discount. And they are excellent.

Power Girl Lectures Women for Complaining About Her Costume (ComicsAlliance)
Nov 23rd 2009 6:47PM While I agree that being lectured to by any comics writer mid-read is incredibly annoying, I didn't get that feeling from this panel. PG has always had problems getting along with other women (see her aborted run in Birds of Prey, for example). She's the ultimate outsider, born in a universe long gone. She's emotionally isolated from just about everyone else in the universe. She's also smarter and more driven than most other people, running her own biotech company.
With all that in mind, and with the fact that she's proud of that costume (and has taken a lot of flack from other characters in the DCU over it), is it really that surprising that PG feels that most women don't like the costume? That most women in the DCU look down on her because of her boobtacular image?
I don't think this is a case of the writer lecturing to us. I think this is a case of a writer with a firm grasp of the character, and the character expressing her strong opinion about herself.
But I could be wrong. I haven't read the issue in question yet, and to be honest, I didn't like her JSA Classified issues, so I'm not in a rush to defend her work overall. (It's not that they were bad comics, more that I just didn't enjoy them. Just a matter of taste more than anything else.)
