Lots of new Gears 2 footage (Joystiq Xbox)
Jul 14th 2008 12:49AM Also, did you notice that it's on the other side of the platform now? It's no longer hidden in that small alcove, it's more open and vulnerable
Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C905 breaks cover with 8.1 megapixels in tow (Engadget)
Jun 10th 2008 11:56PM 8 MP is bad. With such a poor quality sensor, the images are going to have lots of noise.
The megapixel race is harmful to camera (and camera phone) quality. Instead of improving the optics and sensor, the manufacturers just increase megapixel counts to entice unaware customers, most of whom will not benefit from it.
Audiosurf will not ride its way to the XBLA [update] (Joystiq Xbox)
Apr 23rd 2008 4:22PM Yeah, it seems like this isn't happening. In the Audiosurf forums, the creater Dylan says "Must have been a miscommunication. I didn't say that."

Yes, there's a boycott of Battlefield: Bad Company (Joystiq)
Apr 8th 2008 9:32PM This post does not make any sense to me. You talk about letting market forces decide on this issue, but that is exactly what SarcasticGamer aims to do. SarcasticGamer is not forcing anyone not to buy the game. They're just raising awareness about the issue, and trying to leverage a collective (non)purchasing power. If you don't agree with the petition, then you can just buy the game, and not sign the petition. However, SarcasticGamer (and I) are betting that a lot of people, once they understand what EA is doing with this game, will choose not to buy it, in order to send a message.
AOL boosts third-party chat clients with Open AIM 2.0 (Download Squad)
Mar 5th 2008 1:39PM I don't think that this will change anything with the big third-party clients. A quick perusal of the Open AIM site shows this in the FAQ:
Are there any restrictions on what I can build?
We tried to make the Open AIM Program as restriction-free as possible, but in order to help protect our network and users, certain rules apply. In particular, developers are not permitted to build AIM Custom Clients that are interoperable with any other IM network.
Most of the big clients are multi-network, so they won't be able to use the libraries that AOL offers.
X3F review: Puzzle Fighter HD (Joystiq Xbox)
Aug 30th 2007 7:49PM I first played this on my PS2 (despite it being a PS1 game). After I sold my PS2, and became an Xbox fanboy, I was afraid that I'd never enjoy Puzzle Fighter ever again, so I was extremely happy to see that this would be coming to Xbox Live Arcade. I'm just as addicted to this as I was to the original game that I played.
Metareview: Shadowrun (Xbox 360, PC) (Joystiq)
Jun 6th 2007 8:11PM GamePro reviewed both the 360 and the PC versions:
360: http://www.gamepro.com/microsoft/xbox360/games/reviews/115388.shtml
PC: http://www.gamepro.com/computer/pc/games/reviews/115148.shtml
...The PC is a full 20% higher for no apparent reason.
I've been excited for this game for many months, I'm withholding judgment until the demo.
