Dynolicious vs. V-Box and Dynojet (Autoblog)

Aug 2nd 2008 12:40PM I bought Dynolicious and used it for a few runs, and took screenshots of the graphs and compared them to the results.

*The issue with the "peak horsepower" reading is that it really is "peak". If your shifts are "quick" then you'll get little tiny blips of acceleration that can cause unrealistic "peak horsepower" results.*

In my Audi A3 with DSG, if I let it shift at redline in "S" mode the shifts are quicker than doing the same in regular "D" and my peak horsepower reading is higher. However, the horsepower curve shows why: the "S" mode has small bumps but the "D" mode does not (they are smoother shifts, which also causes a longer 0-60 time).

With some filtering, they could improve the "peak" HP readout.

Me, I don't care about peak HP, I care about the area under the curve, which equates to 0-60, and that seems quite accurate to me.

I wish this application let you review the graphs later (without taking a screenshot) and could export the data to Excel on my computer.

Still, it was TOTALLY worth the money I paid for it!

Kensington brings that portable keyboard feel to your desktop (TUAW.com)

Apr 6th 2006 1:31PM We have one of these at home, on a PC. After she got her iBook, my wife really wanted a keyboard on our PC with a laptop feel, and this is the only one we could find. Shortly after we got the white Mac one, I found out it's also available in black with PC markings (Windows key instead of Mac command key) if that's more to your liking. The home/end keys take some getting used to, but otherwise it's a nice keyboard, and the media keys work just fine.
