So you've finally realized that while Chrome might be fast, it sacrifices creature comforts to be so. It's a little bit like living in a whitewashed room with nothing more than a beige-box PC and keyboard -- it works, but it's not a particularly fun experience. If you like car analogies, Chrome is like a race-tuned Ferrari with hard-plastic bucket seats and tubular titanium roll cage.
Likewise, ...

Boxer is a DOS game emulator for Mac, which we first covered all the way back in 2008. It's grown up quite a bit since then, but its essential mission is the same: to allow you to play MS-DOS games on your Mac, hassle-free. It has delivered on that promise from the beginning, and continues to do so.
Boxer is still based on the DOSBox emulator, but as you've undoubtedly gathered by now, adds its ...

Mozilla has just flipped the switch on the new, rather beautiful Firefox 4 download page. No, we have no idea who those three cute (and utterly crazy) characters are.
Update: You can keep track of Firefox 4 downloads around the globe with Glow, a beautiful pseudo-real-time download counter. There's also Twitter Party, which builds a Firefox logo mosaic from Firefox-related tweets.

Android users have been able to post Latitude check-ins via the Google Maps app for some time. Now, Google has brought the same functionality to its Latitude app for iOS. Being able to check-in at specific locations gives the app a much more social feel, and it's nice to be able to do more than track your friends' positions on a map.
Google has also delivered a massive internationalization ...

Apple has just released Mac OS X 10.6.7. As its version number implies, this is a minor software update, even more so than 10.6.6 which at least ushered the Mac App Store into the world. However, 10.6.7 does apparently fix many issues that people who have bought the newest MacBook Pros have encountered, and as such it's a recommended update for all early 2011 MacBook Pro models.
The update ...

Internet Explorer 9 was officially released exactly one week ago. Even if the download numbers for its first 24 hours of existence weren't bad at 2.3 million, they were nowhere near Firefox 3's record-breaking 8 million. During the week that has passed since its launch, IE 9 has managed to secure about 1% of the browser market according to Clicky Web Analytics.
However, starting tonight, ...

If you upload a lot of photos from your iPhone to Dropbox, you know it's kind of a pain in the butt. Opening the Dropbox app and then individually transferring each photo takes quite some time, and there's no batch photo select option available. Quickshot with Dropbox for iOS offers a way to get the job done, though.
With Quickshot, you just select a photos folder in your Dropbox and start ...

We've seen several browser toolbar security tools before here at Download Squad. Nearly every big-name antivirus company offers one nowadays, but BitDefender Traffic Light has one key advantage: it's available on all five major browsers! Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari.
It's also not nearly as in-your-face as some browser malware defense tools. Traffic Light ...
