  • Select Windows 7 from the drop down menu. If you are using the 32-bit ISO, select Windows 7. If you want to try out the 64-bit version, select Windows 7 (64-bit)1314081
  • You want 1024 megabytes of RAM as your base RAM. The recommended size will leave Windows 7 running at less than optimal speeds.1314023
  • Create a new virtual machine. If you already have a VirtualBox drive set-up, you can use it, otherwise, create a new one.1314034
  • Dynamically expanding storage is nice because it will grow in size to fit what you need. If you just want to allocate a designated amount, I recommend using 40 GB for Windows 7.1314024
  • Put in the size of your dynamic or static virtual hard disk.1314025
  • Summary. Check over your settings and make sure everything is the way you want it to be.1314026
  • Your virtual machine has now been created. Now you need to click on 1314031
  • The First Run Wizard is where you will select your installation ISO.1314027
  • Select either the physical drive (if you burned a DVD) or the disk image you downloaded from Microsoft.1314018
  • Confirm the ISO is correct and select finish.1314029
  • Oooh, shiny!1314028
  • Run through the Windows 7 installation. It is pretty standard fair.1314030
  • Congratulations, Windows 7 is now installed!1314080
  • Enable Audio.

By default, audio and USB are both disabled in VirtualBox. After you install Windows 7, shut down the virtual machine and go to 1314022
  • Install Guest Additions to get support for Window resizing and graphics card support.1314033
  • Agree to run the VirtualBox Guest Additions installer in Windows 7. After your VM restarts, you will have the ability to make the machine's display windows bigger or smaller or use it at a 16x9 orientation.1314019
