  • Ok, ok. Bear with me. I'm a software blogger, and devices that bridge SW/HW the gap don't come across my desk often.2259294
  • TonidoPlug's packaging is nicely done. In keeping with the whole 'green' vibe, waste is pretty minimal.2259300

  • So here's what's inside the box. Pretty straightforward: TonidoPlug, power cord, LAN cable, quick start guide.2259302

  • It's a Sheevaplug, so the standard issue RJ45 and USB ports are all you get. That's enough for me.2259304

  • They're well-written and easy to understand. While it sounds like a geek-only device, the TonidoPlug is definitely something that anyone can put to good use.2259295

  • Don't bother checking your router for a new IP lease. Just go to http://www.tonidoplug.com/ip/. When you fire the device up it phones home, and the web page will provide you a link to your plug's control panel.2260307

  • What's that? You want SMB access? Not a problem. Read/write access works from Explorer, Finder, or whatever else it might be that you use as a file manager.2260459

  • I love the idea of a standalone device handling my torrent downloads, particularly when it does them well. Tonido's client maintained speeds on par with uTorrent on my laptop.

Bandwidth limits can be set globally and on a per-torrent basis. Awesome.2259306

  • If you want to share a few quick words with friends and family, Tonido has that covered.

Thots provides a simple, totally private platform that is up to the task. It might not be as full-featured as a Blogger or Wordpress account, but it's all yours and your data is under your complete control.2259322

  • Making individual folders web-accessible is dead simple in Tonido.
