You can now rent Adobe Photoshop for $35 per month, CS 5.5 available soon

Adobe Photoshop can be yours for $35 per month if you agree to rent it for 12 months, or $49 per month if you require its services for a shorter period. Dreamweaver can be had for even cheaper, at just $19 per month. The entire Master Collection is still rather expensive, though, at $125 per month.
Today, Adobe also ushered in the release of Creative Suite 5.5, and simultaneously upped its release cycle from 18 months to 24 months. This means, if you rent Photoshop for two years, it's actually the same cost as buying it outright. There's no rent-to-own option, though -- so you wouldn't have access to the cheaper upgrade price once Creative Suite 6 rolls around next year. Still, if you need access to Photoshop, After Effects or Premiere for a one-time project, the new rental scheme could be exactly what you're looking for.
In other news, Adobe has announced that it will be launching three rather exciting iPad apps that work in conjunction with Photoshop: Eazel, Nav, and Color Lava. Eazel lets you five-finger paint on your iPad, and export the result into Photoshop; Nav acts as some kind of workspace, brush and menu extension, and the hopefully named Color Lava is a paint mixing palette. The apps are expected to appear in the App Store in the next 30 days.

I would try GIMP before I paid Adobe $700.

The title is a bit misleading, don't you think? The chart shows Photoshop available at $35 per month on a yearly subscription, not $29.

@Ashish Hm, sorry about that. Another source has '$29' -- but the Adobe site itself says $35, so I should have run with that. Corrected!

I am not sure about a subscription model. Especially after you have been able to buy cs... for so many years. I wonder with the larger user base if Adobe will be able to pull this off. If you are looking for a simple photo editing tool, Photoshop Essentials is the way to go [ http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/03/adobe-updates-photoshop-express-for-ios-with-new-camera-workflow-and-in-app-purchases/ ] and a LOT less expensive. I am just not sure how willing I would be to pay that much money to use Photoshop on a tablet).

that is the dumbest thing i've heard of in a LONG time. why in the world would i want to "rent" photoshop/illustrator/indesign? that's like renting a donut, eating half of it, then giving back the other half to the person you rented the donut from. that's just plain RETARDED.

@graphicartist2k5 As I pointed out to you over on my blog, where you also posted your nasty nonsense, you already are renting your software; you don't own it, you're renting the license. Just as you currently rent movies or games or music via the cloud, renting software on usage basis would provide advantages to both users (software costs are based on what you use) and companies (more renters / less pirates).
Your analogy to a donut reveals your understanding of software vs. food products. One disappears after use, the other doesn't.
Instead of going around the Web posting your ridiculously angry comments, why not educate yourself. Also, since you proclaim yourself a Christian on most of your posts and profiles around the Web, you may wish to adhere to Christ's admonition in the Sermon on the Mount, specifically about the Golden Rule.

Not the answer to piracy, is it.

This sounds great. At my job they needed indesign for a short project the bought 2 licenses at about $1,000 with discount and since the project was done it has not been used again.
Granted if it's needed it will be there without any supervisors approval to rent another month. Our company as no deal with Adobe so this new option seems perfect.

Great a new affordable way to use a photo application program. However there are other program that a user might be able to use that will do the same thing like GIMP. I used Gimp in creating my website for my computer repair business. http://www.vanovopc.com

This is my 2 cents worth. You need to call your own shots. I had precisely the same idea. It's been a long trip. I have been attempting to get this out of CheapOair Promo Code myself. I will have to definitely suppose apropos to CheapOair Promo Code and see what I can come up with.
