Gmail iOS Web app gains new connection bar on the iPhone and iPod touch
Google has just made another addition to the already feature-rich Gmail iOS Web app. You can now see a pop-up connection bar, that shows you what the Web app is doing, when you last checked for new mail, whether your email was sent successfully and whether you're working online or offline, plus an indicator to show you if you've got any email left in your outbox. The connection bar disappears when no needed, saving screen real-estate.You can check out the new bar simply by visiting Gmail.com on an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS4+. If you don't see it at first, try clearing your cache.

I wonder if this feature is enabled on iPad iOS screen. 'cause the web GUI is different when email is checked on iPhone and iPad.

And remember if you're using 4.3, you'll be wanting to run Gmail directly from Safari, rather than a shortcut from your springboard (unless you want Gmail to run at half the speed that is).
