Yahoo Mail finally fixes IMAP data bug
A while back, Yahoo! was pegged as the culprit behind some users' mysterious mobile data consumption. The problem, of course, was with Yahoo's IMAP support. While there was initially some deflection going on, Yahoo! has now stepped up and delivered a fix which stems the tide of those nefarious and wanton packets.
As reported at Within Windows, Yahoo! updated its IMAP servers and mail is now flowing without the unwanted excess. We geeky types tend to chuckle a bit at Yahoo!-related news sometimes, but as one of the world's biggest email providers this is a very important fix -- and we're glad Yahoo! finally made the necessary changes.

Well it's great to hear Yahoo can actually manage to solve the occasional problem when it really tries.
What I find laughable is their lopsided approach to spam: while they can do nothing to identify all the spam emails flooding my inbox -- the moment I try to forward these same emails to Yahoo's so-called Customer Care, Yahoo PREVENTS ME from doing so, claiming that the email I'm about to send looks suspicious!!!!
WTF????
I've been a loyal Yahoo customer (one who pays for their Plus service) for more than a decade, and I'm preparing to switch everything to either gmail or hotmail (haven't decided yet). They're a joke now, and I guess it began a few years ago when gmail started becoming big and Yahoo just threw in the towel.
Such a shame -- Yahoo used to be so innovative.
[Yes, I know this is not all that on-topic ... I apologize, but sometimes a person just has to vent.]
