Google Apps customers can now purchase additional storage on the cheap
A while back, Google started offering inexpensive storage upgrades for Google Docs storage. Now, users with a domain set up on Google Apps can purchase additional storage, too. The change means you can boost your disk space to 20GB for a paltry $5 per year, or a whopping 1TB for $256 per year (which works out to about $22 per month). That's a very reasonable price for additional cloud storage, and well worth it if you're a heavy Google Docs user.
The space is shared with Gmail as well, so you'll be boosting your mailbox capacity(Thanks for the correction, Nathan!). Hit the Google Enterprise blog for full details!

I hate to break this to you, but if you reread the announcement, it specifically says that Gmail space is NOT affected by this. To increase your space in Gmail you must be using Google Apps paid and that increases the Gmail space. This is only for other google services.
"Additional storage added using User Managed Storage cannot be pooled or transferred to another Google Apps user account and cannot be used for Gmail."

@Nathan
While I admit I cannot investigate to my full abilities right now, leading to my current confusion, I did find this little snippet:

When you run out of free storage for any product, you can purchase additional storage that is shared between products. This shared storage can be used for Picasa Web Albums uploads (Google Buzz and Blogger as well), Gmail messages, Docs uploads or a mix of all three - it will be used by any product that's over its free storage quota on a first-come, first-served basis

@mvp The wording is a bit muddy, but I think Nathan is right:
"The User Managed Storage service is enabled or disabled by the domain administrator, and the end user purchases additional storage using his or her Google Checkout account. Additional storage added using User Managed Storage cannot be pooled or transferred to another Google Apps user account and cannot be used for Gmail."
...even though they mention pooling with other Google services in a previous paragraph.
