Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo coming 'in a few weeks'
Jay Sullivan, Mozilla's vice president of products, has told the IDG News Service at the Mobile World Congress that Firefox 4 for Android will ship in a few weeks. We should expect to see one more beta version this week, and then the final build soon after.Sullivan also tells IDG about Firefox for Mobile's extensive feature set -- 150 add-ons will be available! -- and Mozilla's overall move to a faster, quarterly release cycle.
Android already has a lot of competent browsers, but an HTML5-rendering, hardware-accelerated and sync-enabled offering would blow the rest of the competition out of the water.

If the final release is anything like the last couple of beta's I predict it'll sink like a stone rather than blow others out of the water.
It needs to be shit hot fast to make an impression for me. While it's certainly come on since it was first released on Android it's still way to sluggish. It did install to SD however, which is a bonus

@@davey_lad Yeah, I'm not sold on it either. I hope the next beta changes my mind tho'!

@Sebastian Anthony Me too, but considering how long it's taken to get to this stage I won't hold my breath.

I didn't think anyone really cared about Firefox mobile. Firefox is sooooo late to the game, their mobile browser is irrelevant, and the competition has better products already in use for a long time.

We need firefox as it alows you to use a master password etc... eg its safer and you can trust Mozilla...
That said they have to at least match the speed of the default web-kit based browser.
Problems:
15sec start-up
Scroll shows hash background.
Tap to reflow text.
It is better LOTS better but still some way to go.
