Bump for iOS now shares app recommendations

Bump for iOS app sharingBump for iOS has reached version 2.4, and it now supports easy swapping of app recommendations with just a tap (or 'bump'). A couple of months ago, the app added easy user-to-user music sharing to its features, and now, with app recommendations built-in, there's little information that you can't share with your friends via (a) Bump.

Apparently, adding app recommendations has been the biggest feature request that Bump has received lately. To use it, open Bump, select the new feature, and you'll be shown a list of apps. Tap to select the ones you wish to recommend to your friend, and bump your phone with theirs. That's it. Your friend will receive your list of recommended apps along with links to the App Store for each.

Because Apple doesn't offer a native API to let developers see what other apps are installed on your iDevice, Bump's workaround involves looking at the list of apps that are currently running. As such, you simply won't be able to recommend apps that you don't use frequently. Of course, you probably wouldn't do that anyway, since more often than not people tend to recommend what they use most.

The Android version of Bump already supports basic app sharing, and it will get an overhaul later this month. The new app will even allow cross-platform recommendations, assuming that the apps you choose are available both on iOS and Android.
