Google Chrome dev gets password sync -- again

Google Chrome password sync has been a long time coming, first taking shape in May 2010 Chromium builds. It's popped up before in official Chrome builds, but never appeared to be functional. Now, however, password sync has come back to the Dev Channel -- and it seems to be working for some. On my own system, Chrome's status indicator spun endlessly and I was never able to authenticate -- forcing me to cancel the process and leave my sync options as they were. Sebastian, however, successfully logged in and activated password sync with no problem.
With password sync so close being finished, maybe Google will start working on letting us sync our custom search engines...

I hear you about custom search engines. Talking with Alex Chitu, it sounds like a big problem with sync on custom search engines is that the data comes from the browsing history. I asked how he figured that out and he suggested clearing the browsing history. I'm good, thanks!

LastPass +1
That being said, maybe they will add "Search Engine" syncing and extension preference syncing soon also ...that'd be great to not have to reconfigure extensions on every single machine that is already syncing the extension itself.

Password sync works for me (even behind a heavy firewall).
