Thunderbird Conversations 2.0 alpha 2 released

Late in 2010, Mozilla delivered the first alpha of Conversations for its Thunderbird email client. The add-on brings Gmail-like threading to your Thunderbird inbox, and it worked quite nicely in our testing. As is the case with an alpha release, however, there were loads of bugs to squash and features to to tweak -- which Mozilla has been doing ever since.

There's now a second alpha of Conversations available to download and it brings a number of updates to the handy quick reply feature. Mozilla also says that "If you've been reluctant to use Thunderbird Conversations because some bug would annoy you, there's good chances it's been fixed."

Conversations alpha 2 also adds a "send and archive" option, and we're glad to see that -- it's one of our favorite Gmail Labs features, after all.
