Pixable's Photofeed automatically curates your Facebook photos

If you're a serious Facebook user, you and your friends have posted hundreds of thousands of photos. Pixable's Photofeed is a new Facebook app that shows you which ones you should care about. It ranks photos in categories like "Popular of the week," "Popular of the day," "Top profile pics," and "Best of 2010," using each photo's number of "likes" and comments.

The "popular" categories are pretty straightforward, but Photofeed's best of each year is a bit of a mystery. For 2009 and 2010 it decided to show me childhood photos of a girl I went on one date with. In fact, all of the "best of" photos are coming from 3 of my Facebook friends, and it's not as if their photos have huge numbers of likes and comments -- maybe they're my only friends using Photofeed? There's no info on how Photofeed's "best of" algorithm works.

Aside from the auto-generated albums, Photofeed also occasionally pops up stats about your followers as you browse. You'll learn things like who comments on your photos most often, who you're most often tagged in photos with, and which of your friends upload the most pics. You can also use Photofeed to follow individual friends, so you don't miss their latest photos.
