Dolphin Browser Mini brings better Web browsing to older Android devices

Dolphin Browser HD is an excellent browser, but like a lot of Android apps it's not available on devices running older versions of the OS. If you're using an inexpensive Android tablet or smartphone, however, there's a great new browser which brings a much-improved Web experience: Dolphin Browser Mini.
A new preview build is now available for download, and it offers many of the same features as its HD cousin on Android 1.6 or newer. About the only major component missing is Dolphin Browser HD's add-on support, but Mini still shines with its built-in functionality. To get you started, Mini can import bookmarks from the Android default browser, Dolphin HD, or sync your Google Bookmarks. Dolphin Mini also offers tabbed browsing, a download manager, orientation lock, gesture support, private browsing, and a 'screen cut' tool for capturing Web pages as a JPEG.
Dolphin Browser Mini preview 2 is a free download [APK installer] -- the QR code is after the break along with a gallery of the nifty little browser in action!

I might give this a try on my Incredible. I always felt Dolphin Browser HD was slow and clunky; this looks much more refined.

Dolphin Browser Mini doesn't allow you to change the homepage.

I was able to change the homepage. Try this:
Bookmark the page you want. (When the lower menu is up, hit the star next to the page name.)
Open the bookmarks menu and long press the bookmark you want to set as home.
Select 'set as homepage'.
I actually did this without trying to change it in the settings, so I'll play with it more later. Perhaps it's related to the phone you have?
Either way, I've been using Dolphin Browser rather than Dolphin Browser HD since I found HD clunky as well. Most importantly, Dolphin allows standard zooming with pinch-zoom, and reflow zooming with double tap. Dolphin Mini does this too.
Too many android browsers require a change deep in the settings menu to switch between reflow and standard zoom, and I use both daily.
Long story short: Yay Dolphin!

So far, I like the speed of Dolphin Browser Mini. I haven't compared it to the other Dolphin browsers or Opera, but it feels faster than the default Android browser.
I also like the 'new' menu interface.
This is now my default browser.
off topic: why does the commenting interface on this site suck?
