Google to hold Chrome event - and demo! - December 7th
Google has announced a special Chrome event, scheduled for December 7th at 10:30 a.m. PST. Our sister site, Engadget, is guessing this will be the debut of a Google-branded laptop running Chrome OS. The event has a demo portion on the schedule, and a demo of a new OS is certainly worth a press conference, so don't rule a Chrome OS launch out. All we can tell you about the event at this point is that we'll be eagerly watching. You can watch, too, on a YouTube livestream at youtube.com/googlechrome.

How deflated would you feel, if it's for the Chrome Web Store?

Strike that comment, after having read http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/03/sources-google-branded-chromebook-to-launch-on-december-7th/, I'm pretty confident it will be the OS and Web Store.
Can I get the old app tabs then too, _please?_ (Or sooner.)

I wonder if Google has considered that the date is Pearl Harbor Day.

A rumored Google event on December 7 could herald the long-awaited Google Chrome OS netbook, but the initial launch might be smaller than expected.
