Malwarebytes is one of the most trusted and effective tools for removing all kinds of malicious software. Over at the
Malwarebytes forums, there's big news today: MBAM 1.5 has been released, and it's faster, smarter, and better than ever. Startup time has been trimmed to just a few seconds and scanning speed improved by as much as 500%. There's also a host of new detection algorithms which allow MBAM to better detect all the frustrating, shifty malware floating around cyberspace.
Users can now manually add files and folders to the Malwarebytes ignore list, too. If you own the pro version, you'll get enhanced command line tools, a smarter, faster "Flash scan" which takes as little as 10 seconds to complete, and one-touch automatic updating.

Norton and the other big AV companies should take notice. This costs $30 (or less) for a lifetime license. Pro version updates almost every hour, and stops all viruses, spyware, adware, and malicious sites before they have a chance to do anything to your computer. It is the only real-time anti virus/spyware program that I use and is the only thing I recommend to family and friends.
WORTH THE $30!

the Malwarebytes page does say it is 1.46 but that download link takes you to Cnet where it has 1.5

@kojo87 I've already posted this, but it's up on FileHippo now if you don't want to go through the hassle of downloading from CNet

When everyone claimed how great Malwarebytes was, I tried it. Much to my dismay there were so many false positives that I rarely use it anymore.

They have pretty bold statements there. Lets see how it performs. I have always used MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware. Good to have them as on demand scanner every once in a while. No antivirus/spyware app is %100 accurate. Good to have options.
