Chrome OS launch won't happen this year

Later, our cohorts at TechCrunch got wind of a potential release this week -- but a comment by Eric Schmidt at the Web 2.0 Summit seems to have doused the flames. According to Schmidt, Chrome OS will launch "in the next few months." That, of course, means no Christmastime Chromebooks, and it makes launching in time for CES seem unlikely as well, since that's just seven weeks off.

Yep. Not to mention netbooks aren't the hot gadgets anymore, tablets are.

Maybe I'm simply a keyboard fanatic. The other day, I tried out both the Macbook Air and the iPad, for the first time. From my short stint, I would much prefer the Air to the iPad, any day. I especially felt like I was bumbling all over the iPad's keyboard.
Is my preference a market aberration?

Id imagine that the ipad and lion changed a few things for them. They need to release something unique in order to compete.
