Limili iOS app identifies songs and then adds them on streaming music services
Limili is a new mobile app that identifies any song that's playing around you, almost exactly like Shazam. Limili does something that Shazam doesn't, though: it finds the song on your streaming music services, including Grooveshark, Spotify, Rhapsody and Last.fm. From there, you can add the song to your collections and playlists with a couple of taps. Limili uses Mufin's huge, pre-existing song database instead of starting from scratch, so it's quite effective at identifying songs. Right now, you get 100 song IDs per month, which should be enough for most people. According to MobileCrunch, Limili plans to lift this restriction in the near future. Limili is only available for iOS so far, and it costs $1.99 in the App Store.

WRONG! Shazam on my non sh!tty phone links music right into Zune Marketplace where with a Zune pass I can play it immediately. And ANY app that adds it to last.fm does not guarantee that last.fm will play it because they make "like" stations.
More reasons WP7 offers a more compelling solution.

The limit on songs has already been removed. The app's info page reads:
"After feedback we have already removed the limit of searches from the app. We have aslo uploaded an update and it will remove the search count and In App Purchases. So you can enjoy unlimited searches."

I was just about to shout about this scandalous search limit. Good thing to know they decided not to go with it.
I bought the app to see how it works with spotify, and it's pretty cool. It only opens the song or album in spotify, but it's still pretty fun.
Time will tell whether it can be better than soundhound or shazam.

i'm so confused. so if you are streaming a song it will identify it? when you say "From there, you can add the song to your collections and playlists with a couple of taps." what collection am i adding it to? am i adding it to my ipod local music collection the device or is this creating some new playlist in grooveshark that i can play back later?

$1.99 and it's still limited to 100 per month? That's dumb.
