Digg now has a staff-picked Breaking News section
Digg has announced that it's adding a Breaking News module to its service. The module can be seen on the right side of the Top News, My News and Upcoming pages on Digg. Right now it shows five stories at a time, with one of them being highlighted as a Hot Story. The new section will also allow Digg to aggregate stories on a particular topic.Unlike the rest of Digg, where users control the stories' performance by casting their votes to either 'digg' or 'bury' them, the Breaking News section will be curated by Digg staff, in an effort to showcase important news as quickly as possible.
The new feature is already live on Digg.com.

As much as it pains me to say this, Digg is no longer relevant.

^ Sadly I agree. I used Digg daily until the latest version came out. I have been forced to love Reddit.

They finally brought back the bury button. To little too late. They killed the goose that lays the advertising money, in favor of their sponsors. The damage is done. Once you go Reddit you don't go back.

Will Digg ever stop with the stupid gimmicks and ploys to get users to come back? We're not coming back digg, give up!

They killed it the moment they changed everything. It is no longer a relevant website. They really screwed the pooch, lesson learned for future endeavors.
No one is coming back to the website, even with the people who go to the site now just look to see if there's anything interesting that isn't a sponsored post.
