Google Chrome sponsors free holiday Wi-Fi on Virgin, AirTran and Delta flights

If you're flying this holiday season, Google has a present for you. From November 20th to January 2nd, most flights on Virgin, AirTran and Delta will offer free, Google-Chrome-sponsored Wi-Fi, in a repeat of last year's successful giveaway. The internet access provider for these flights is GoGo In-Flight Internet, which would normally cost between $5-13 for a single flight pass, depending on the length of your flight.

Speeds will likely be quite slow -- as more people than usual will be using the flight's connection when it's free. You probably won't be able to keep up with your World of Warcraft raids while you're in the air, but you'll at least be able to check your email a few times before you land.
