Opera 11 adds portable install option

Opera 11 already looks like it's going to be a solid browser once complete, with support for extensions, and even faster JavaScript and rendering engines. Over at TechieBuzz, they spotted one more feature addition: the option to install Opera 11 to an external device.
During the install, just click the options button instead of accept and install. You'll be taken to the screen above, where you can easily change the install path to point at your USB flash drive or other removable storage device. That's all there is to it!

You can also change the extension of the installer to .zip and just unzip it wherever you want..

I don't know if you need to rename the extension, at least if your using 7Zip then you shouldn't need to.
I think though that when you install it to an external device it configures itself so that it writes the settings/preferences to the same folder as it is being installed to.

You don't need to. I am saying that as an alternative to choosing the external device option you can skip running the installer altogether.

I understand, what I'm saying is I'm not sure if your going to get exactly the same results as when you install it to a external device. According to the post on the Opera Desktop Team blog when you install it to an external device it configures itself to read and write its profile settings to the installation folder. I don't know where it writes and reads its profile when you just extract it.

If you simply unzip, I think that on first launch at every computer, Opera is going to create a profile folder under C:\User\....
