Ustream will soon let you charge for your videos and give your viewers an ad-free experience

Ustream logoOnline live video streaming service Ustream has announced a couple of new features today: Open Pay-Per-View and Ad-Free Broadcasting. Both are coming soon.

If you're a Ustream user, Open Pay-Per-View will allow you to charge people for viewing your content. You will have to apply to Ustream to be able to take advantage of this feature, and once you're approved you will be able to charge for the content via PayPal. You can submit a new request for a PPV show or view the status of the application process here. This feature is available right now for a few broadcasters that Ustream has hand-picked and will soon be open to all those who use Ustream.

With Ad-Free Broadcasting you will be able to create a completely ad-free experience for your viewers. Taking the ads off the stream is something that you are able to do right now directly as a viewer (for a fee, of course), but this means that broadcasters will be able to selectively enable or disable ads for their broadcasts. This feature is slated to go live early next month.
