Google Voice Search on Android now supports Russian, Polish, Czech and Turkish
This is just a quick heads-up for all our Eastern European and Anatolian readers: you can now use Android's Voice Search in four new and crazy languages! Russian is the first Cyrillic language, and Turkish, Polish and Czech mean that a lot of Europe now has access to Voice Search. The only real problem is that you have to change your phone's global language setting to use Voice Search in another language. So, while this might sound like an ideal app for bilingual speakers, in reality it's a bit too clumsy. Hopefully future versions will include a simple on-screen toggle for different languages.
If your phone doesn't have Google Voice Search installed, simply search for "Voice Search" on the Android Market -- and it's only for Android 2.1+, alas.

Why do you think Turkish is Cyrillic? As you can see in your own screenshot Turkish is written with the Latin alphabet. Russian indeed is written in Cyrillic.
Back on topic, I hope they will launch a Romanian version also!

Hrm... I'm pretty sure a few members of the Turkish alphabet are Cyrillic -- but yes, I know it's mostly Latin nowadays :)
You know, a funny thing about that screenshot: Google actually labelled that one as 'Czech'...

That's Turkic languages spoken on former USSR counties. Which I believe all switched to Latin script by now.
'Turkish' on the other hand has been used with Latin Script over 80 years by now.
On topic: It's quite surprising to see anything related to Turkish on Android. Considering their less than 1% market share http://gs.statcounter.com/#mobile_os-TR-monthly-200909-201009-bar

You don't have to change phone's global language. Go to Settings > Voice Input > Voice Recognition > Select Language. This will change defaults for voice recognition and your phone will stay in English.
