Loopt for iPhone adds support for Facebook Places
Loopt was the first location-based service to hit the iPhone and is still going strong, despite increasing competition in the field. And now it has support for Facebook Places! This lets you see the location of friends using Facebook Places on the same map that shows where your Loopt friends are. You can also easily view a friend's location history, regardless of whether that friend has used Loopt or Facebook to check in. This may lead to the discovery of new, cool places to go to with just a few taps, since you also have quick access to your friends' comments and photos.
Checking in to both Loopt and Facebook Places at the same time is now possible, and as before, you can make the app alert you when a friend is within a specified distance from where you are -- only now this feature works for Facebook friends as well.
A quick video demo of the new features can be found after the break. Support for Facebook Places is coming soon to Loopt's Android app. The app for iPhone and iPod Touch can be downloaded for free from iTunes here.

Now if they would remove the capp on the number of friends you can have. Sort of defeats the purpose.
