Soluto/DLS Giveaway: Try the new beta, tweet for a free t-shirt
Soluto makes some very cool "anti-frustration software"; it basically uses crowd-sourcing to cut down your computer's boot time, and promises to do even more in the future (perhaps figure out what applications are making your computer slow).
Lee first covered Soluto back in May, when they won TechCrunch Disrupt. Shortly thereafter I went to visit them at their Tel-Aviv office and was very impressed by how nice and friendly they were. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship, and today, Soluto is celebrating the release of a new beta version with a joint Download Squad/Soluto giveaway!
Since Soluto is a free application, it wouldn't make much sense to give it away. So the company has printed 15 t-shirts and is going to send them off to 15 lucky winners anywhere on the planet, and might have some other goodies up its sleeve too.
To see the t-shirt and find out how the giveaway works, keep reading after the fold!
So first, here's another shot of the t-shirt (and the model, of course, who happens to be Soluto CEO's girlfriend, I'm told):

There are t-shirts both for guys and for gals. Here's what you have to do to get your hands on one:
- Take a screenshot of your own computer running Soluto, or
- Take an actual photo of yourself with a computer running Soluto, the crazier the better (as seen in the cover photo for this post – Soluto is in the background)
- Tweet a link to your photo, and include @soluto #downloadsquad somewhere in your tweet. Note that it has to be both @soluto and #downloadsquad.
The giveaway runs from today (12 Oct 2010) until 19 Oct 2010 at 00:00 Eastern time. When it's over, Soluto will go over all the tweets and choose 15 winners at random. They'll ship the t-shirts anywhere on the planet for free.
It's not all random, though: I'm told there are some special prizes waiting those few nerds who are willing to push the envelope and take an extra-crazy Soluto-related photo. These will be awarded on merit, and at Soluto's discretion.
So... what are you waiting for? Go, download, take a photo and tweet! We'll be listening.
Legal Note: This giveaway is run solely by Soluto.

There's nothing hotter than an Israeli girl. They all serve in the army so they can all kick your ass.

Hopefully this time around Soluto doesn't take as much RAM as last time I tested it. For a second I thought there was distributed computing software running embedded in it as several hours after booting it was using near 200MB. Ongoing frustration research wasn't enabled too. @_@

Uh,m chick with the drill... helps if you have the arm strength to hold the drill properly and have your finger on the trigger. Also, I think I have that same laptop in the garage somewhere. Never tried to drill a hole in it. I wonder....

Or we can use Sysinternals Autoruns and don't worry about privacy.
I still don't see their money making bussines model but since they got 7.8 milion $ in funding for an startup tweaker is must be about selling users data: like pc usage patterns, software installed , distributed computing to thirdparty and who knows what else since usualy the seeding funds are all about selling a company they invested in it fast and at very high profit over initial investment.
