Microsoft announced Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 a bit prematurely
Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 website debuted over the weekend, and one of the app icons pictured was for Rovio's smash hit game, Angry Birds. The thing is, Rovio has never said that it would be bringing its bestselling iPhone and Android game to Windows Phone 7. The official Rovio Twitter account posted that it's "not committed" to developing for Windows Phone 7 and that MS used the Angry Birds icon without permission. The icon has now been removed from Microsoft's site.Of course, this doesn't mean that Angry Birds won't hit Microsoft's new phones. In fact, it would be a bit silly to pass up a new market for a game that already tops sales in Apple's App Store. The thing is, Rovio should be able to make the announcement itself, instead of Microsoft letting the cat out of the bag to promote its new mobile platform.

yay! I hope microsoft aren't going to keep the windows phone 7 marketplace separate from 6.x, I use a 6.5 handset and looking forward to the boost in apps that version 7 will (hopefully) bring.
