User support may yet resurrect zombie Xmarks

The next day, we reported on the announcement of Xmark's PBS-style pledge drive, asking users to show their support by saying "Yes, we'd pay a couple bucks a month for this!"
Today, there's even better news: the pledge drive has worked. Because of all the social noise created by Xmarks users, there are now "multiple offers on the table," and the Xmarks team is "pretty confident that Xmarks will continue on with no service interruption."
So, there you have it. Even when you're reporting on your own death, it's still possible for those reports to be greatly exaggerated.

I hope the syncing service does survive. I know at least Last Pass is also thinking about offering something similar. Perhaps they should purchase them and roll them into the premium service they offer. I'd pay for that.

Yippee! XMarks has been a great convenience for the many PCs and laptops that I use. I pledged and would be happy to pay for the service. It's worth ten bucks to me.
