Internet Explorer 9 downloads keep on rolling, hits 6 million in just two weeks
Two million Internet Explorer 9 Beta downloads was certainly an impressive number. Beta apps don't usually generate that kind of interest, but IE9's arrival has been on the highly-anticipated side. It's not too surprising, then, to read the news from Microsoft that IE9 beta downloads have now crossed the 6 million mark -- in just two weeks.
Netmarket's latest stats even show IE9 users as accounting for .25% of the browser market. That's no small feat for a beta release.
Haven't tried Internet Explorer 9 yet? Check out Sebastian's list of reasons why you should and then download IE9!

But you need to be on W7 or Vista, that's lame.

Use FF4 when it comes out or Chrome 7. Both will have Hardware acceleration. Bot run on XP.

Windows 7 is awesome. If you're hanging on to XP, you're in DENIAL!

It's going to take a lot to get me to switch from Chrome for good, but it's not a bad browser to take for a spin every now and again. Bit like driving a Bugatti Veyron and wanting to take a spin in a Lambo just for a change. Both fast, both handle well, but the Veyron has a more comfortable ride.

IE and Chrome need to be able to do what FF can or I'll never switch. So far niether browser has been able to compete with FF because niether one offers power user level support like DTA, DTA One Click, Gmail Manager, Image Grabber, Media Download Helper, and quite a few more plugins that offer features and speed beyond IE and Chrome.

Tried W7 for a month on 64-bit PC. Got fed up with trying to do (or find) stuff that was a snap - or had workarounds - in XP. Sick of M$'s vomit-inducing palettes: orange bleeding into turquoise, come on!
Windows 7 is as fast and reliable as XP and Vista were promoted as being, yes, but as an OS it's average, not awesome. They've just tried to make it as near to MacOS as possible, and now it's locked down just as badly.
Boresome, in fact.

Oh come on. Windows 7 isn't that good. I just wish people would stop worshipping OSes, sort of like the people who carry their bibles all around with them.
