Internet Explorer 9 Beta video leaks, no metro in sight
Take this one with a grain of salt: A video purportedly showing Internet Explorer 9 beta has found its way to YouTube. It seems rather convincing – you see the browser score 95/100 in ACID3 and go through the paces of some of the new browser benchmarks.
The biggest letdown here is that the UI seems incredibly ... mundane. I mean, for some reason the guy filming the video opened every link in a new window, so you don't get to see the tabs (which are supposedly right next to the address bar, according to previous mock-ups and rumors).
Still, for what it's worth, this leak seems to be substantial. I can only hope that something more exciting happens with the UI by the time the browser officially launches, which is pretty soon now.
update: the ever-watchful Long Zheng has informed us that the video may well have been created using Firefox and a custom theme -- the site in question has apparently made with the shenanigans once before...

Still not a huge fan of the tab bar and the address bar being on the same line...seems like it'll get crowded immediately...

There is no way the UI looks like that

I'm still saying the UI team needs to be fired.

Wasn't the "Back" button a bit larger than the "Forward" button. Looks like a hoax ...
