Windows Phone 7 remote lock and wipe, find my phone features pictured
It was pretty clear from the get-go that Windows Phone 7 would integrate tightly with Microsoft's Live services, and today we've got another glimpse at one way that integration will work.
WMPoweruser has shared an image captured from what appears to be a Samsung employee's Windows Live account. Clicking through to Devices > super secret Samsung Win7 phone (we'll leave the hardware stuff to Engadget), the Find My Phone screen will provide WP7 users with options to map a phone's location, make it ring, lock the phone and display a message (can haz phone bak? kthxbai), or even perform a remote wipe.
Live's My Phone functions certainly add an interesting cloud component to WP7... Now that Microsoft's newest mobile OS has been released to manufacturing, it shouldn't be long before we get some hands-on reports about how the latest incarnation of My Phone performs.

The more I see and hear about Windows Phone 7, the more I want one. I'm glad that Microsoft have come at this with so many new (and in my opinion) great ideas rather than just trying to create an iPhone clone.
I've never really been a phone nut, they just have never interested me but I can see myself trying to get one of these as soon as I can (really bad credit rating not withstanding!).

these features have been avaiable in MyPhone for something like a year now. I used it back on 6.1, and now 6.5

I hope Apple is paying close attention to all of this. With Exchange ActiveSync now free for all Hotmail users, plus all the free Live Mesh/Sync/Whatever support and storage space, plus Facebook contact integration, plus the host of other FREE services Windows Live has to offer, and now the WP7 location, remote locking and remote wiping services - it's everything MobileMe offers and more, for free! How Apple still charges $99pa for such a now-standard service is baffling.
Then there's the new Live desktop apps as well, all tightly integrated, and free - but I can't really pass comment on them as I haven't used iLife myself.
I have an iPhone and I kinda wish I wasn't tied down so I could get a WP7 phone, as this is all coming together so well. In the meantime, I'm just enjoying my ActiveSync!

That would require constant internet connection right?
