Songbird 1.8 update brings broader device support, OS X syncing

The Songbird team has released a significant update to their feature-packed media player today. Among the new additions: sync support for several HTC and Nokia handsets (as well as the Blackberry Storm) and sync support on OS X (Mac users will need to download the MSC add-on).
While Songbird is no longer providing official builds for Linux users, contributed builds of Songbird for Linux are still available for download.
Songbird's service pane has also been given a facelift, bringing a more polixhed look to the left-hand side of the player's main window.

I've been following this project about 2 years now. It has grown to something which is actually usable.
Unfortunately they canned Linux support before it has reached this stage.
The synchronization feature looks very slick, shame it is only supported for just a few devices.
Hopefully they will be able to implement WiFi media syncing in the next couple of builds.

While Songbird is nice, it doesn't rip to mp3 and its auto tagging capabilities are lacking.
Try MusicBee. It has many more capabilities and is still free!

I've been following Songbird almost from the beginning with high hopes (and now a little frustration) at their pace and priorities.
Have they managed to integrate 'proper' podcast support yet or have they just given up in favour of their weird subscribe to a page thingy?
