uTorrent 3.0 features live streaming video and uTorrent Web, works with iPad and Android
uTorrent, one of the most popular BitTorrent clients around, just got an update so big that they renumbered the version from 2.1 to 3.0. What new features were that important? Streaming torrents, for one, and a web interface that works on iPad and Android, for another. uTorrent 3.0 is now in alpha and available for download.
To use the new web interface, download uTorrent 3.0 -- for Windows only, so far, sorry! -- and set a username and password in your preferences. Then you can log in at web.utorrent.com on your iPhone, iPad or Android device, and control your torrents on the go. Convenient!
As for streaming, there's a new protocol called Project Pheon that has been in the works for some time. It's not for streaming movies and TV shows from torrent files, though (that feature was added back in 2009). It's about live video broadcasts, a la Justin.TV or Ustream. Apparently, the latency is impressively low. Let me know if you have any luck testing out this new protocol.

I have Dolphin HD as my default browser on my HTC Desire and I couldn't log in to web.utorrent.com because of the stupid "mouse entropy" security measure they use to encrypt your session. Is there any need ?

Yeah that sucks. I can't use it on my phone either.
I shouldn't say this but I run uTorrent on one of the school computers and remotely control it through the web interface! lol Try it at your own risk, just make sure that it works with no pop-ups and put it in the startup, you'll be fine ;)

Am I the only one who sees the this new web interface as a disaster waiting to happen? Channeling information about the torrent downloading of thousands of people though a central site is just asking for a court-ordered seizure of information followed by mass lawsuits. I understand that they want to make torrent remote-control available to the everyman who doesn't understand the ins and outs of setting up a webserver, but I fear they're painting a bull's eye on their own head.
